Path of Exile 2 in patch 0.5 feels like Early Access stepping into a more settled shape, even if the game still has rough edges. Return of the Ancients brings the Runes of Aldur league, a refreshed Atlas, new Ascendancies, more than 100 Runes, fresh Uniques, and a few tools players have been asking for since launch. If you’re checking gear prices or planning trades while testing a new setup, PoE2 Currency is naturally part of that wider conversation about gearing and progression. The patch is also being treated as the last big stop before version 1.0, which is expected later in 2026 and should bring the full campaign and free-to-play launch.
Sacrosanctum and why players care
Sacrosanctum is a Unique Body Armour on the Corvus Mantle base. It asks for level 68, plus Strength and Intelligence, so it clearly leans toward hybrid Armour and Energy Shield characters. The item grants Armour, Energy Shield, Strength, Intelligence, Chaos Resistance, and an implicit Spirit roll in the 20 to 30 range according to database and trade data. Its flavour is neat too: “The Twilight Order rejected the gods, choosing instead to put their faith in each other.” The important bit, though, is the Recoup package. Since patch 0.4.0, Sacrosanctum rolls 10 to 20 percent of damage taken recouped as Life, not the older 5 to 10 percent range still seen on some outdated listings.
The Recoup line is the real item
The reason Sacrosanctum stands out isn’t just that it gives a pile of mixed defences. It takes damage recouped as Life and also recoups it as Energy Shield. In plain terms, a 20 percent roll can return 20 percent of eligible damage as Life over the Recoup duration, while the Unique effect mirrors that recovery into Energy Shield as well. That doesn’t mean we can safely claim wild stacking tricks, because the available data doesn’t confirm exact formulas with other Recoup sources, Demon Form, recovery modifiers, or hard limits. Still, for players comparing listings, the Recoup roll matters most. After that, Spirit, Chaos Resistance, and the increased Armour and Energy Shield roll are the numbers worth watching.
Trading, farming, and the awkward unknowns
There’s no confirmed boss table or special farming route for Sacrosanctum. One source says bosses and rare monsters with unique modifiers are good targets because they have better Unique drop chances, but that’s not the same as a deterministic method. PoE2DB links the item to trade data and shows examples from the Fate of the Vaal league, so buying one is likely the cleanest path for many players. If you’re browsing listings, comparing rolls, or budgeting around PoE2 Currency for sale, don’t overpay for an old 5 to 10 percent Recoup listing unless the game itself confirms the current value after patch changes. Also, patch 0.5 talks about upgrading weaker Uniques, but there’s no clear proof that Sacrosanctum is one of those upgrade targets.
Build Planner changes how guides are followed
The new in-game Build Planner may be the most practical quality-of-life feature in patch 0.5. It lets creators share.build files that players can load directly in Path of Exile 2, with passive tree guidance, skills, and notes shown in-game. The usual setup is simple enough: download the file, place it in DocumentsMy GamesPath of Exile 2BuildPlanner, open the Skills tab, use the filter area, click the Build Planner icon, and choose the build from the drop-down. Poe.ninja can export characters into this format, though its version is still described as an early prototype and doesn’t include items yet. It’s not Path of Building. It won’t replace deep damage math.
