Exciting news (and a bit of a wait) for MMORPG fans:Chrono Odyssey Gold, the highly anticipated MMO from Cacao Games, has officially been pushed back to Q1 2027. The confirmation came during Cacao Games’ Q4 2025 earnings call, where the developers shared insights about the reasons behind the delay.
According to the company, multiple focus group tests have already taken place, and the postponement is aimed at incorporating player feedback and optimizing the game. The goal is to ensure that Chrono Odyssey launches in a complete and polished state, avoiding the pitfalls that have affected other MMOs recently. While there’s no official word on the next closed beta test, Cacao Games emphasized that the game will undergo repeated testing in Western regions to confirm both completeness and stability.
This cautious approach is particularly notable given the recent struggles of MMORPGs in the market. Both New World and Ashes of Creation faced shutdown notices within months of each other, highlighting how unforgiving the MMO space can be. By taking their time, the developers of Chrono Odyssey appear to be aiming for a launch that meets the high expectations of modern players, especially with the Steam release in mind.
While the delay may be disappointing for eager fans, it reflects a broader trend in the industry: games need to be truly ready before launch. In the meantime, there are other MMORPGs releasing this year to keep players engaged, but the anticipation for Chrono Odyssey continues to build.
Ultimately, waiting may be the best way to ensure that when Chrono Odyssey finally arrives, it delivers the experience players have been dreaming of. As Cacao Games themselves put it: if the developers say the game isn’t ready, with Chrono Odyssey Gold for sale,it’s a sign that they’re committed to quality—something every MMO fan can appreciate.
