Five Shield Rechargers and five Bandages is a practical minimum; less than that turns one bad encounter into an immediate extraction. Arc Power Cells can also save a run when shields are empty, so do not automatically sell every one you find.

Why Waiting at Spawn Actually Works
The “wait three minutes” advice sounds passive, but it has saved more kits than aggressive aiming ever did. The first few minutes are when squads rush nearby loot, fight over early objectives, and broadcast their position with gunfire. Let them burn shields and ammo first. Then move through the quieter side of the map, listening for ARC movement and checking where fights have already happened.
Do not mistake silence for safety, though. A dead area can mean someone is holding an extraction route. Before calling it a clean run, pause near cover, watch the approach, and save stamina for the final sprint. Stamina and Conditioning upgrades are early priorities because movement is both your defense and your escape plan.
Common Beginner Mistakes That Slow Progression
Most new players overvalue rarity and undervalue consistency. A rare item is not progress until it reaches your stash. The same applies to PvP kills: winning a fight feels great, but chasing a wounded Raider across open ground often brings you into a third party’s sightline. If your backpack already contains mission parts or crafting materials, disengaging is usually the smarter play.
