Matriarch runs on The Blue Gate rarely go according to the first plan. You may enter with a clean route, find the ARC threat near a useful landmark, and then realize that every explosion is drawing attention from nearby Raiders. Before loading in, check your ARC Raiders BluePrints progress and choose a kit that can support a long fight without sacrificing your ability to escape. This encounter rewards players who treat positioning, ammunition and extraction routes as part of the loadout rather than separate concerns.
Build for Pressure, Not One Perfect Burst
The Matriarch has enough durability to punish a build that depends on a single damage window. A reliable primary should offer steady DPS, manageable recoil and enough ammunition to keep the target under pressure while you move between cover points. The Dolabra has a useful role at close range because its shotgun profile and electrical effect suit aggressive ARC damage, but it also encourages risky distance management. Bring it when you understand the terrain and have a clear retreat path. In more open areas, a weapon with better reach can make the fight less dependent on standing inside the Matriarch’s most dangerous attack space.
Reserve Part of the Kit for Players
The biggest loadout mistake is spending every slot on ARC damage. A secondary weapon should remain ready for a Raider push, especially when the Matriarch’s health is low and your attention naturally shifts toward finishing the objective. Keep one magazine untouched whenever possible, reload before entering the final damage phase, and carry healing that can be used without exposing yourself for too long. Your utility should also serve both encounters. A defensive device placed near a doorway or corner can delay a squad while you change position, whereas equipment dropped directly at your feet may provide little value once the angle is pressured.
Rotate Before the Fight Forces You To
Do not wait until the ground beneath you becomes unsafe. Pick two or three firing positions before the first serious attack, then rotate whenever the Matriarch’s pattern makes your current cover unreliable. Short bursts from different angles are safer than extended fire from one predictable spot. Listen for distant footsteps, suppressed shots and movement through nearby structures; these details often matter more than the boss health bar. If another team arrives, avoid crossing the same route you used to enter. A side path toward hard cover can preserve your options, while an open sprint usually turns a difficult encounter into a desperate one.
Looting Is a Separate Phase
When the Matriarch drops, pause before touching the rewards. Heal, refill your magazine, scan the nearest approaches and decide whether the area has gone quiet for a meaningful reason. Valuable loot can tempt players into standing still at exactly the moment their awareness is lowest. If the fight consumed most of your ammunition or healing, ask whether the remaining reward justifies another engagement on the way out. For players building their collection, it can be worth planning future runs around buy ARC Raiders Bps so the next Matriarch attempt starts with a more flexible kit, but the priority should remain surviving the route home.
