If you have been playing Path of Exile 2’s 0.3 patch and want something that feels completely busted, you should seriously give the Lightning Warp Blood Mage a go. With the Witch version of this build, you’re basically zipping around like a living lightning bolt, chaining teleports so fast the screen can barely keep up. All the while, your Ball Lightning setup is constantly firing off and deleting anything in range. It’s fast, it’s aggressive, and with the sustain from Blood Mage, you can shrug off hits that would end other characters. Perfect for farming hard maps or pushing into deep endgame, and yes, it’s as fun as it sounds. Trust me, farming currency feels so much smoother once you get the loop going, especially if you keep an eye on PoE 2 Currency to fund your upgrades.
The core loop is dead simple: spam Lightning Warp. All the power comes from combining the Blood Mage ascendancy with a pair of Atalui’s Bloodletting gloves. They make life cost turn into big regen, so using your life as a resource actually keeps you alive. Damage doesn’t come from Lightning Warp directly, but from Ball Lightning triggered through a Cast on Crit setup. Drop Sigil of Power for extra punch, then warp non-stop. Every crit spits out a wave of projectiles, overlapping until the battlefield is just a mess of shocking zones. You don’t dodge much — you trade tankiness and self-heal for constant aggression.
Main 6-link for Lightning Warp should be Lightning Warp – Magnified Area II – Rapid Casting II – Projectile Acceleration II – Deliberation – Lightning Mastery. This maxes warp speed and AoE so you’re covering more ground faster. For your trigger setup, go with Cast on Critical – Ball Lightning – Lifetap – Multishot II – Boundless Energy II. That’s your damage engine. Sigil of Power linked to Prolonged Duration II is essential for sustained fights, and Mana Tempest is your burst tool — pull it out for bosses you need gone yesterday.
Passive tree is straightforward: spell damage, crit chance, max life and ES. Blood Mage ascendancy with Grasping Wounds and Sanguimancy is non-negotiable for the sustain. Defensive backbone comes from Mind over Matter, Eldritch Battery, and Zealot’s Oath. Gear hunting is pretty focused — Rathpith Globe for massive spell power, Atalui’s gloves for survivability, then stack crit, cast speed, and life wherever you can. Early on, a decent rare chest with high ES and resists will do fine before you min-max. In endgame, Azmeri bosses like Doryani or Jamanra won’t last long under your lightning storm. Even Uber Arbiter drops in under two minutes once you’ve got the rhythm down. For anyone who loves a fearless, screen-wiping playstyle, this build feels like cheating — and if you’re looking to push it even further, keeping an eye on the poe2 market will make min-maxing much easier.
