So here we are again with another set of weekly Trials in Arc Raiders, and trust me, these runs are worth your time. A lot of folks skip them, especially when extraction farming gets addictive, but that’s missing out. If you manage to nail a three-star score on a Trial, you’re walking away with guaranteed Epic loot – that’s top-tier blueprints, weapons, shields, or backpacks, all without spending a single credit. For anyone low on materials or just wanting a quick upgrade, the reward is a real boost. Honestly, having a stash of ARC Raiders Items ready makes the grind feel way smoother.
This week’s tricky one is the “Damage Hornets” challenge. You need to take down around six or seven in a single run for that max rating. It sounds simple until you go wandering for hours without seeing one. From what I’ve seen, Spaceport and the Buried City work best – but make sure you drop in during a Night Raid or an Electromagnetic Storm. Under those conditions, Hornets are way more likely to show up. Personally, I like Spaceport. Grapple yourself onto the roof of Arrival or Departure – those high spots give you enough sightlines to spot incoming drones before they spot you.
Standard rifles can feel like you’re chiselling granite when it comes to Hornets, so don’t bother. You want something accurate with punch. Guns like the Ferro, Anvil, or Renegade have worked best for me. Aim for the rotators – those spinning engines on the side. Take out two, and the thing loses balance, crashes in seconds. It’s faster than trying to burn through the whole health bar, and safer too if you’re dealing with multiple enemies at once.
If you’re impatient or just in a hurry, you can bait them in. Tag or blast a Snitch, and you’ll call in a squad of ARC forces which almost always has a Hornet plus some Wasps. It’s risky – especially solo – because they don’t arrive politely. You’ll get swarmed quick. But if you’ve got cover nearby and your clip’s full, it cuts the waiting game short.
