In the event that Diablo 2 Resurrected gets that right and offers a similar loot system as Loot2.0 and Loot2.0 in Diablo 3, then we’re already worried about D2R Items just how much time we’re going to devote to the game. The disaster in Diablo 3 is the best chance that has ever happened to the franchise on a go-forward basis, and combine this and Immortal’s Immortal controversy, it appears like Blizzard has a simple list of potential potholes to avoid if it’s to remain within the ranks of it’s best players.
The community is extremely vocal about what they don’t like and has been through the development of Diablo 3, so we’re hopeful that Blizzard will take the feedback of those fortunate enough to have played large parts of the game in the pre-release phase. Although we’d bet Blizzard isn’t thrilled by the massive leaks of footage that is rumored to have come in the wake of one of these test results.
One aspect from Diablo 3 that is confirmed to return are the short-lived Seasons. These are post-game bits of content that change the way legendary items work as well as remixing the content of the base game making it a replayable game that’s already extremely replayable. Seasons was supported for a substantial amount times in Diablo 3, so we’re hoping that they’ll be an important feature in Diablo 2 Resurrected.
The seasonal nature of the game also sets Diablo 2 Resurrected up to be another compelling Game Pass game, should it ever be shut down. A game like Diablo with its solid gameplay is perfect for a service specifically designed to allow players to return to real-time games within a couple of months. However it’s a bit of a gamble, as the game is scheduled to launch in June, and the fight over the D2R Items buy future of Activision still well underway This is one game which is highly unlikely to receive Game Pass treatment on day one. Game Pass treatment on day one, unless something radically occurs.
