3. Leveling Up and Runes
You gain Runes by defeating enemies, which are used to level up and Elden Ring Items purchase items. However, if you die, you drop them at the spot and must retrieve them without dying again.
Tips:
Spend Runes frequently.
Explore early zones like Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula to safely farm.
Use Golden Runes (inventory items) as a reserve currency when needed.
4. Combat Basics – Patience and Precision
Combat is timing-based. Every enemy has a pattern that can be learned:
Dodging is essential – learn invincibility frame timing (i-frames).
Blocking with a 100% physical shield (like the Brass Shield) is great for new players.
Parrying and Guard Counters offer risk-reward mechanics.
