To empower Monoliths of Fate in Last Epoch, you need to unlock and access the Empowered Timelines, which are advanced, more challenging versions of the normal Monolith timelines offering better rewards and no corruption cap.
How to Unlock Empowered Monoliths
1. Complete the three key level 90 normal timelines:
– Spirits of Fire
– The Age of Winter
– The Last Ruin
These are the highest-level normal timelines and require strong gear and builds to finish.
2. After completing these three timelines, a special chest appears on a small island between them in the Monolith of Fate map.
3. Interact with this chest to permanently unlock Empowered Monoliths.
4. Once unlocked, you can select Empowered versions of any timeline when starting a run.
Features of Empowered Monoliths
1. Level 100 area level: Empowered timelines are set at a higher level than normal (level 90), increasing enemy difficulty.
2. Starting corruption at 100 with no cap: Unlike normal timelines capped at 50 corruption, Empowered timelines start at 100 corruption and can increase indefinitely, making the challenge scale infinitely.
3. Greater rewards: Higher corruption and difficulty lead to better loot, including exclusive unique items dropped only in Empowered timelines.
4. Empowered Blessings (Grand Blessings): These are enhanced versions of normal Blessings, providing stronger buffs to your character.
5. No corruption limit: This means you can push your character’s limits for increasingly difficult content and better rewards.
Additional Notes
1. Alt characters sharing the same stash gain access to the Monolith progression of your main character. They only need to complete one level 90 timeline to unlock Empowered Monoliths, speeding up progression for multiple characters.
2. The Shade of Orobyss boss increases corruption when defeated, making each run more challenging but more rewarding.
3. The Weaver Tree allows players to customize their Monolith experience further, unlocking through the Woven faction.
