Twilight Reliquary Keys are the sort of thing you don’t really plan around at first. You’re running maps, clearing packs, clicking chests, maybe grumbling about bad drops, and then one lands. These keys belong to Path of Exile 2’s endgame loot pool, so they can appear from many Atlas-based rewards rather than one fixed monster. If you’re already trading, crafting, or pricing items with PoE 2 Currency, it’s worth knowing how these keys fit into the wider endgame economy before you burn through them too quickly.
How Twilight Reliquary Keys Actually Drop
There isn’t a secret farming route for the normal Twilight Reliquary Key. You just need to be in the endgame, playing Atlas maps, and looting properly. Monsters can drop them. Containers can drop them. Other reward sources can drop them too. That sounds vague, but that’s the point: the key is part of the global loot pool. So, if you’re mapping often, juicing layouts when you can, and not skipping loot-heavy content, you’re giving yourself more chances. It’s still random, though, and some players will see one early while others go dry for ages.
Buying Keys Through Currency Exchange
If waiting on luck isn’t your thing, the Currency Exchange is the cleaner route. Talk to Ange in Kingsmarch or in your Hideout, open the Currency Exchange window, and use the “I Want” side to search for Twilight Reliquary Key. Then choose what you’re paying with on the “I Have” side, often Exalted Orbs. Prices move because players set the market, but a normal key has been seen around 5 Exalted Orbs. Don’t treat that number as permanent. Check the live exchange before buying, especially if you’re grabbing several keys at once.

Using the Reliquary Vault
Once you’ve got a key, head to the Reliquary Vault on the Atlas. It sits northeast of the Ziggurat Refuge, and it works like a special map encounter. Use the key, enter the area, and open the golden chest inside. The reward is a random Foiled Unique. These items look different on their item cards, with a special shine that marks them as Reliquary drops, but they don’t gain extra power just because they’re Foiled. Most rolls will be ordinary levelling or build-specific Uniques, though there’s always that small chance of something far more valuable.
Boss Keys and Smart Spending
You’ll also notice named Reliquary Keys linked to endgame bosses, and those are a different gamble. A Xesht Reliquary Key, for example, pulls from Xesht’s Unique pool, which means it can produce a Foiled version of boss-only drops such as Hand of Wisdom and Action. That makes these keys more targeted, but not exactly safe.
