After the Diablo 4 PTR closes, switch to live activities for any remaining March of the Goblins and Meat or Treat progress, then revisit your test notes when the Season 16 patch arrives. Normal play remains the starting point for earning gold; D4 Gold is a separate option from farming it yourself.
Prioritize live event progress
March of the Goblins and Meat or Treat are the live activities to check after the PTR session. The supplied schedule places the PTR cutoff around 10:00 a.m. Pacific time on November 3, 2026, but event availability and exact end times should be confirmed before planning around them.
Check the live client for your remaining Goblin rank progress and Meat or Treat opportunities. The supplied event details mention Sparks and seasonal gold, but do not establish specific reward thresholds or a claim process. Do not assume a reward has arrived until it appears in the game.
Keep live event tasks separate from PTR observations. A finished test run does not advance a live character, and PTR characters, Paragon boards, and stash layouts do not transfer.
Use the final PTR session for targeted runs
Complete one Infernal Hordes set at the difficulty you normally use for seasonal play. Record the class, difficulty, clear time, gold earned, deaths, and any events that forced a reset.
Compare that result with a Helltide loop on the same class. Divide gold earned by minutes spent for each activity, then label Hordes as your primary route, a secondary route, or a lower priority. Keep the class and difficulty beside the result so an alternate character does not inherit the wrong plan.
Note the consumables and defensive layers that kept the waves stable. If survival depends on PTR tuning, mark that dependency rather than treating it as a reliable live setup. Test numbers can change before release.
For The Pit, clear two tiers near your current live pushing range and try one tier above it if time permits. Record boss phase length, troublesome affixes, and whether the rewards justify the time compared with Hordes. If the same affix combination causes two failures, write down the defensive gap and a possible gear or skill substitute.
Preserve the useful details before logging out
Take screenshots of successful skill and Paragon setups before the test closes. Save them outside the game client, then open the saved files to confirm that the relevant selections are readable. A remembered board layout is a poor substitute for a clear image when rebuilding later.
Skip cosmetic browsing, extended story play, and PTR alt leveling if the cutoff is close. Avoid treating test economy prices as a forecast for live trading, and do not spend rare materials on crafting trials unless the result will produce a clear keep-or-drop decision.
After switching to live, finish the event tasks still available, then compare your notes with the released Season 16 patch. If your next build needs materials, review your existing supplies before deciding whether to buy d4 mats; update your farming plan only after the final changes are confirmed.
